Aims and Scope

AIM

The purpose of this journal is to inform and publish new research findings in all forest habitats of Iran (Hyrkani, Zagros, Arsbaran, Irani-Turani and Sahara-Sandi forests) and also to publish the results of research related to the spruce genus for the use of everyone, especially forest specialists.

SCOPE

  • Forest ecology (such as the relationship between the forest and environmental and climatic factors such as light, temperature, physiography, species competition, forest fire, vegetation and forest species diversity, distribution and extent of forests and forest species, conservation status of forest species, biomass, carbon storage and Carbon sequestration, allometric equations, forest by-products, forest species decline, seeding areas and seed gardens, characteristics of old trees, forest species phenomenology, forest clearings, dry forests, forest evolutionary stages, stresses on forest species, intra-species and inter-species interactions, plant communities )
  • Forestry of seed-bearing and branch-bearing forests (such as breeding operations, seed production and regeneration of forest species, forestry methods)
  • Management of seed-bearing and branch-bearing forests (such as evaluation of different forestry plans, forest management methods, sustainable forest indicators and criteria, forest sampling methods, evaluation of quantitative variables of the mass such as ground cover, growth and standing stock, evaluation of the performance of hardwood species)
  • The use of remote sensing techniques and geographic information systems in forest areas (such as measuring and monitoring the surface and extent of forests, determining lands prone to forest and spruce development, preparing species distribution maps, preparing fire maps and fire risk modeling, using drones in forest studies )
  • Social and economic issues of forests (such as economic valuation of forest goods and services, assessment of the status of livestock in the forest, indigenous knowledge related to the forest, alternative livelihoods, human-forest relationship)
  • Technical-engineering sciences (such as road construction, forest road network, wood exploitation methods, various wood transportation systems, ergonomics, bioengineering and soil reinforcement)
  • Forestry and forest nurseries (such as standards of forest seedlings, different methods of planting seeds and seedlings of forest species, adaptation of forest species, the effect of afforested species on the soil, rainfall storage systems in forestry, growth stimulating hormones, recreational values of forest parks)
  • Forest soils (such as physical-chemical and biological characteristics of forest soils, mutual effects of soil and forest species, soil microorganisms)
  • Forest genetics (such as evaluation of the genotype of forest species, genetic correlation and heritability of forest species, preservation of genetic reserves in cold conditions)
  • Forest policy
  • Evaluation and introduction of superior poplar clans
  • Urban forestry (such as species suitable for planting in urban green spaces, forest services and urban green spaces)
It should be mentioned that the topics of Forest Science Day in the country will be considered in priority. The articles of this publication are printed in Persian language and only the English abstract of the article and the sources used in the text and in the list of sources will be in English.

 Types of articles

Original articles: An original research article is the result of research and research on a completely new topic. In this type of article, the author expresses a new idea or topic during detailed research and works on this research idea and obtains results that are completely It is new and has never existed before.

Review article: A review article is an article that is not the result of field or laboratory research and is written based on the review of previous researches. In other words, a review article examines and analyzes existing sources in order to examine and explain the current situation about a topic or problem. In a review article, the work that has been done is criticized and analyzed, and usually some suggestions are also provided. According to the nature of review articles, there is no limit on the number of pages and the number of sources used for this type of articles.

Short paper: A short essay contains ideas and viewpoints that are written about a specific topic. Normally, the topic of the short essay should not be general, but should be specific and detailed and focused on a real problem or issue. A short article is compiled in five main sections, including Abstract, Introduction, Supporting paragraph, Summary paragraph, and References, and the number of pages is between 3 and 5 pages (in In some cases, with the approval of the editor, increasing the number of pages is allowed).
